The Tyler Middle Mount or “Side Mount” is operated by a camera operator sitting in the right door of the helicopter. It can accommodate most film and video cameras. This mount is primarily used for shots circling around the subject area or flying next to the subject. (Example: Circling a building or parcel of land, flying next to a car or boat, etc.) Panning and tilting are accomplished by the operator physically moving the camera mount grips. The system includes a gyro-assist which helps to reduce vibration. The camera operator and 1 passenger can fly in the helicopter while filming.
This setup is ideal for:
-Circling Shots (orbiting around the subject area)
-Shots flying along the side of buildings
-Shots flying along side of cars or boats

The Tyler Nose Mount is a rigid camera mount fixed to the nose of the helicopter. It can accommodate most film and video cameras. This mount is primarily used for “running” shots. In other words, shots moving towards the subject area. This mount only has tilt capability - no panning. Panning, if any, is done by the pilot controlling the helicopter. This mount is not gyro-stabilized. The camera operator sits in the front of the helicopter next to the pilot and operates the system using a laptop console. There is a standard definition monitor built into the console. Up to 3 passengers plus the pilot can fly in the helicopter while filming depending on the fuel and equipment load.
This setup is ideal for:
-Running Shots (towards the subject area)
-Shots looking straight down
-Fast moving shots
-Dynamic shots with banks and turns |
